Loyalties to the Wombs

Published by Eber & Wein, 2017

Loyalties to the womb I owe,

As your body made you Queen to reign.

The fairytale time together I remember

Through celluloid, yet I surrender

Pleasantries in exchange with shame.

Loyalties to the womb you claim I owe,

Yet our tempers collide.

Mother and daughter kill each other

As ancient cities fell to brothers

Impossible to tame parasites within your head reside.

I refuse the loyalties I blindly owe

For I am my own self-constituted

Person, not a gambit nor pawn

Of the set pieces of people you pray on.

Accept this as my resolution:

Loyalties to myself I bestow with absolution.
